What To Expect

At RHVS, we believe advanced surgery should feel like an extension of your practice, not a handoff to a separate facility. That’s why we perform all procedures onsite, working hand-in-hand with your team to ensure comfort, continuity, and confidence for everyone involved.

Whether you’re a veterinarian referring a patient or a pet owner preparing for surgery, here’s what you can expect from start to finish.

Referral & Scheduling

Contact Dr. Poppell by phone or email to discuss the case.

For urgent procedures, phone is preferred to ensure timely scheduling and clarity.

A Trusted Partner in Your Pet’s Care

At RHVS, your pet’s comfort, safety, and recovery are our highest priorities.

All surgical equipment and implants are provided by Dr. Poppell. On the morning of surgery, your pet will arrive at your regular veterinary clinic — not a distant specialty hospital — and be cared for by the familiar team you already know and trust.

Dr. Poppell remains personally involved in every case from start to finish. Detailed discharge instructions are provided after surgery, and follow-up is always available if questions arise.

This continuity of care means less stress for you, and a smoother, more compassionate recovery for your pet.
